About Us

Our Story

Rooted in Tradition,
Driven by Purpose

MIR Héritage was founded with a simple belief: that food has the power to heal, unite, and empower communities.

From our earliest volunteer food services to impactful events, we remain committed to preserving cultural heritage and creating lasting impact—one meal at a time.

MIR Héritage Foundation is a federally incorporated non-profit under the Canada Not-for-profit Corporations Act, established to advance the wellbeing of communities across Canada. The Foundation works to address food insecurity, celebrate and preserve cultural heritage, and support newcomers and families in need.

Rooted in the Kitchener-Waterloo-Cambridge tri-cities, MIR Héritage collaborates with registered charities, community groups, municipalities, and local partners to deliver programs that are welcoming and inclusive of all communities. Its current priorities include developing halal and culturally appropriate food-access initiatives for food-insecure families, and creating community gatherings that bring people of every background together.
